what is Beveled Edge - the long edges on both sides of a DIMM near the gold fingers at the bottom of the PCB are tapered to remove the sharp 90° edge of the PCB. This helps in the insertion of a DIMM into the memory socket (slot). (Often used on small DIMMs: SO-DIMM, mini-DIMMs etc..)
