Acoustical Noise

If your computer system will be in use within an area where fan noise may be a problem to people, you may need to consider the reduction of acoustical noise and design a memory subsystem that  focuses on heat reduction techniques and not heat extraction techniques.  If possible, consider mounting your motherboard/systemboard vertically up along the line of gravity and design the motherboard/systemboard with a vertical DIMM orientation so natural convection cooling can occur. Also try to place the memory subsystem away from all heat generating objects like power supplies or heatsinks of other high heat generating semiconductors. You may also need more than the usual amount of chassis venting along with proper meshing for EMI containment.
