The required airflow will be a function of the thermal resistance of the surface of the memory module and the air pressure drop. The thermal resistance is a variable that decrease as the airflow velocity increase, and the air pressure drop increases as the airflow velocity increases, so these are often depicted by graph charts for a given altitude. Since air is compressible, operation at higher altitudes will require derating of the values determined and measured at sea level.
